I have been in the mortgage industry for almost 20 years. Started as a collector in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2003. When the market crashed, I transitioned to lose mitigation. For years, I completed loan modifications, forbearances, and repayment plans to help homeowners retain their homes.

As the foreclosure era turned to a buyer’s market, my role in the industry transitioned to an underwriter. It took me several months to obtain my underwriter’s signing authority but I succeeded. I worked as a forensic underwriter for over 3 years and I hated it! This is when I realized I LOVE PEOPLE! I moved back home to Orlando, Florida, in 2015 and took a drastic pay cut to find a position where I talked to new people every day. Took a position as a loan officer assistant where I could learn the loan origination process.

After a few years, I took my loan origination state exam and passed. I continue to work as a salaried employee while receiving a bonus for my loans. I noticed that the realtor was able to build relationships in the community so I studied and passed my state exam to be a licensed realtor. In my first year of being a realtor, I didn’t do anything as it was the start of the pandemic. Yet, a year later, without any marketing, cold calling, or paying for leads, I sold over $2 million in real estate.
